Suzie McNeil has been through the wringer of romance. In fact, we’ve all been there, haven’t we? Dumped. Abandoned. Rejected. Forsaken. Cast aside. Not only does the Juno-nominated McNeil share your pain, but she’s actually done something productive about it. She’s written and recorded an excellent 11-song, 12-track pop catharsis of the heart called Dear Love.
“This album is pretty self-explanatory,” explains the Mississauga, ON native of the project that documents her “showmance” with Scott Walters, a singer and actor she met while both were performing in the Toronto production of the hit Queen musical We Will Rock You. (Don’t worry – he knows about the album and has given his tacit approval.)
Taking her cue from the Marti Frederiksen/Kara DioGuardi title track, McNeil, Rock Star: INXS finalist and YTV: The Next Star resident celebrity judge, wove an emotional journey of loss and recovery for her third album, and first for Vancouver’s 604 Records.
