Electropop Star Gwyn Love Drops Debut Album “dimr”, Enticing, Beautiful, and Intoxicating | Modern Neon
Every time we step into the electro-pop world, we know that today’s artist is a MUST check-in for us. On our latest visit to 604 Records we are checking out dimr, the debut album of Gwyn Love. Gwyn Love began honing her talents early on with first picking up a cello at age 5. By age 11, Gwyn Love had already written her first song and was quickly on her way to discovering her own path down the music avenue. In the decade since, Love has tweaked her sound to become uniquely hers, a blend of pop-electronica that we wouldn’t expect to find in small-town Oklahoma. Gwyn found a solid amount of success after the release of her debut EP At First Blush, with the EP’s lead single being picked up by popular playlists including Spotify’s “It’s A Bop”, Apple Music’s “New Music Daily” and Amazon’s “Fresh Pop” and “Brand New Music”.
“dimr represents fleeting feelings and moments in time that were significant enough at the time to write about and remember forever. There are songs about my first true love and all the trials that come along with learning to love, a lot of feelings that I simply couldn’t hold inside any longer and of course some cheeky songs that were super fun to write. Louise Burns and I co-wrote half of this album together and the other half was co-written with La+ch, which means they were all written and recorded in Canada which is pretty cool. Super pumped for you guys to hear and hopefully relate to these songs.” – Gwyn Love
With how many singles covered and how long we’ve been waiting, we are excited for dimr to finally be free out onto the Internet. While she may have just debuted last year, Love has been busy carving out a niche for herself in the ever-evolving electronic pop world. She treated listeners to many different facets of her musical style over the last year, but the next milestone for any artist is finally under her belt. With dimr officially being her debut album, we finally get to hear Love in full form…and it is elegant and intoxicating. The album bleeds Love’s authenticity as an artist and at the same time entices listeners like us into joining Love as she dances in her room. We can confidently say that dimr may just be one of our favorite pop albums this year and deserves your listen.
