Hi Gwyn, welcome to VENTS! How have you been?

I’ve been doing very well! Thank you.

Can you talk to us more about your latest single “cali”?

This song captures a beach summer vibe to me perfectly. I’ve dreamed about moving to cali for as long as I can remember and this song talks about all the reasons why I feel I belong there.

Did any event in particular inspire you to write this song?

I was talking to my friends about why I wanted to move to cali and they just were not getting it. I sat down the next day and wrote this song in hopes it would help them understand why I felt like it was the place for me.

How was the filming process and experience behind the video?

Filming with Jackie was so fun! He brought along his neighbor Chris who was my chauffeur and we became best buds. We drove all over cali in a convertible and it was truly magical!

How was the recording and writing process?

This song came to me very quickly and easily with writing, and la+ch did the production in maybe 4 hours. I feel like the best songs come easily.

What role does Oklahoma play in your music?

Oklahoma will always be my hometown and I’ve learned so many great things living here, but it never has felt like home to me. Can’t seem to fully get the accent to go away though hahaha

Does the new single mean we can expect a new material – how’s that coming along?

I have an album ready for you all coming this fall…I think?? I’m so excited to show you all what I’ve been working on!

Any tentative release date or title in mind?

I know I’m releasing the next single on the album in September and I think the full album later this fall. I have not come up with the title yet, but it will come to me at some point.

What else is happening next in Gwyn Love’s world?

I plan on focusing on the EDM/DJ world and getting more into that scene. I’m also moving to Cali in January, finally.
