Lights Joins MAUVEY on New Single “We Had the Time of Our Lives Together”

Vancouver alt-pop up-and-comer MAUVEY has joined forces with Lights on “We Had the Time of Our Lives Together,” the latest single from an upcoming EP arriving via 604 Records. 

The duo collaborated after MAUVEY watched Lights perform live and ended up sending her some of his unreleased music. The two come together perfectly on “We Had the Time of Our Lives Together” as Lights thrives over the electro instrumental in her verse, which MAUVEY anchors with a captivating hook. “The song is reminding you that even if you were ‘the worst’ together, you had the time of your lives together,” said MAUVEY. “It’s about silver linings, it’s about reminiscing on the best of times.” 

Focusing on the positive of a failed relationship is fitting for an artist whose credo reads: “Our world is dying of a broken heart. With LOVE we might be able to mend it and each other. That’s what distributing LOVE is.”

“We Had the Time of Our Lives Together” marks the first track to be released from his upcoming EP Before the Album II: a brief overview, which is expected to arrive in late 2023. 

MAUVEY has a slew of shows coming up, with the lone Canadian dates coming in Calgary (February 17) and Vancouver (February 18). See the full schedule below:
