Gwyn Love and La+ch Are Back With Full Three Track EP “♡ x +”, Punk Vocals + Electro Beats | Modern Neon

There are a few moments, that are few and far between, where our voice is actually heard. On our latest dive into the indie world we are checking out  “♡ x +” from Gwyn Love and La+ch. Hailing from small-town Oklahoma, Gwyn Love began honing her talents early on with first picking up a cello at age 5. By age 11, Gwyn Love had already written her first song and was quickly on her way to discovering her own path down the music avenue. In the decade since, Love has tweaked her sound to become uniquely hers, a blend of pop-electronica that we wouldn’t expect to find in small-town Oklahoma. Gwyn found a solid amount of success after the release of her debut EP At First Blush, with the EP’s lead single being picked up by popular playlists including Spotify’s “It’s A Bop”, Apple Music’s “New Music Daily” and Amazon’s “Fresh Pop” and “Brand New Music”.

“I was super stoked to work with La+ch because I’m a huge fan of his beats. My project manager linked us, so I flew out to Toronto for a week to record with him. We went out to eat and just to meet each other before recording, and we were about to leave, but I was super stoked to start recording so I asked him if we could go to the studio and we did. First song we made together on the first night we met was “vibin’” and we were definitely vibing. This EP is more of my dancey stuff that La+ch and I did that really shows off his production skills, a legend truly. He understood what I wanted production wise every time and executed it perfectly. My bro for life, is truly an honour.” – Gwyn Love

While there are a handful of collabs that we cover and wish there was a full album, things don’t often work out that way. However, when we first teased the  “♡ x +” collaboration with their single “Shit I Like” last month…we had this feeling in the back of our mind that this wasn’t the end for these two artists. Low and behold, one month later and we have a full three-track” “♡ x +” EP to show as a result. Coming from distinctly different musical backgrounds, the Gwyn x La+ch combination isn’t something you would expect to work, but they clearly found a middle ground. Both new tracks on the EP, “sum 1 nu” and “vibin’”, showcase Gwyn’s more punk-centric vocals and La+ch stepping it up to create an electric playground for Gwyn’s vocals to spread their wings. Both talented artists in their own right, we hope that Gwyn Love and La+ch take what they have learned and grow as artists.
